The elite special forces unit, the U.S. Army Rangers, have this language as part of their creed: “I will never leave a fallen comrade to fall into the hands of the enemy.” That idea has been part of military culture for millennia. No man left behind.
You know, we as Christians should have that same mentality. The Holy Spirit says in James 5, “My brothers, if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone brings him back, let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from his wandering will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.”
Beloved, when the enemy of our souls captures one of our Christian brothers and sisters and leads them astray, we don’t leave that fallen person in the hands of the enemy. To do so is to give them over to spiritual death. No, we go after them. We fight to retrieve. We strive to bring them back to goodness and safety. And in doing so, we will save their soul.
Wouldn’t you want a Christian brother or sister to do that for you? Then do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Change begins in you!
