In 1 Timothy 4, Apostle Paul warns Timothy about a far more dangerous broadcast. In the last days, some will abandon the faith, tuning in to deceiving spirits and the teachings of demons. They will be lies dressed in religious clothing, delivered by those whose consciences have been seared to point of complete numbness.
The false teachers in Ephesus perhaps didn’t appear evil at first glance. They looked devout. They had religious rules like, for the sake of God, don’t marry and don’t eat certain foods. On the surface, that sounds spiritual. It’s sacrificing something for God. But Paul called it what it is: demonic doctrine.
You see, if God says it’s good, it’s good. Marriage is good. Food is good. Beloved, we will never find holiness in rejecting God’s gifts. No, it’s found in actually receiving them with gratitude and prayer. You see, one of the ways you worship God is to enjoy His good gifts.
So, when that person comes along trying to deceive you and steal the joy of God’s good gifts, I pray you you’ll be discerning enough to send them right on down the road.
Change begins in you!
