Reflecting God’s Workmanship

I wonder, what do you see when you look in the mirror? I know what you should see. You should see God’s workmanship. that’s the descriptor for you and me that the Holy Spirit uses through Apostle Paul in Ephesians 2. We are God’s workmanship.

That means, first, that God is your designer and creator. He not only formed our first father, Adam, out of the dust of the ground, but with each of us individually, the Bible says that God created our inmost being and then knit us together in our mother’s womb. You are indeed God’s workmanship.

But that’s not all it means. Being God’s workmanship also means that you are of high quality. God does nothing sloppy or half-hearted. No, Scripture says are fearfully and wonderfully made! That means that you are astonishing and awesome. Yes, there is brokenness and darkness in you that God wants to heal you of and cleanse you of, but in your essence, you are astonishing and awesome, and don’t let anybody tell you any different.

Finally, being God’s workmanship means that you were created with a purpose. In Ephesians 2, it says that one of those purposes is good works. God created you to do good things. In fact, God has even prepared those opportunities for you so that you could accomplish them. Choose those good works over sinful works.

As you walk around today, walk in the knowledge that you are God’s workmanship, and let that knowledge change your walk.

Change begins in you!
