One day, Jesus told his 12 disciples that some of them would soon see him coming in the glory of his kingdom, and just six days later Peter, James, and John got to experience what most believe Jesus was talking about, what’s called His transfiguration.
He led them up on a high mountain, and there Jesus was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became dazzling white as light. And then all of a sudden, there appeared with Him Moses and Elijah, who had been dead for hundreds of years at this point. And then a bright cloud overshadowed them, and God’s voice boomed from that cloud, “This is my beloved son, with whom I am well pleased. Listen to him.”
Peter, James, and John were so fearful at this point that they fell on their faces in terror, but then Jesus touched them and told them to get up and to have no fear. When they lifted their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus, and he was looking as normal as ever.
Those three disciples got to see just a glimpse of the glory of Christ Jesus. Friends, Jesus is indeed way more glorious than we ever imagined. And one day soon, we will see glory as well when Jesus comes again. Are you ready for that day? In other words, have you listened to Jesus like the Father told Peter, James, and John? Have you made Jesus your Lord and Savior? That’s the only way you will enjoy that day when Jesus comes again in his glory. Otherwise, it will be a day of great sorrow for you. May you listen to Him. May you be His. And may you be ready for His return.
Change begins in you!
