Hey, I’ve got a secret to tell you. Can you keep a secret?

Has anybody ever said something to you like that? How did you respond? The right answer is yes, I CAN keep the secret you are about to tell me, but I don’t know if I SHOULD keep it. You see, there are some things that just should not be kept secret, especially those things that are wicked.

In fact, the Holy Spirit through Apostle Paul tells us in Ephesians 5 that not only are we not to take part in deeds of darkness, but we are to expose them. That means that if we know about them, we cannot keep them secret.

Beloved, there are some things that just must be exposed, and to keep them a secret is sinful. The unloving thing to let that thing hide in the cover of secrecy. The loving thing to do is to drag it out into the open and expose it, which is exactly what the Bible calls us to do. And when it is exposed to the light, it can be dealt with as it should be.

Beloved, I know that exposing a secret is not easy, but it’s right and good. May we do what’s right for the good of those around us!
