Integrity. Oh boy, that’s a word and a concept that our world today needs to recover and embrace! What does it mean? It means you won’t crumble and fall when the pressures of life come at you. A house has integrity when it’s strong enough to support its own weight and not fall down when the wind blows. It’s structurally sound. A ship has integrity when it can support the weight of its cargo and isn’t crushed like a Coke can when waves crash against it. It’s structurally sound.
A person has integrity when they have a moral standard and maintain it when the weight of life and the storms of life bear down on them. They don’t crumble into compromise. They have moral integrity.
Listen to God in Proverbs 11:3, “The integrity of the upright guides them, but the crookedness of the treacherous destroys them.” When righteous people face a choice in life, they always know which way to go because they have integrity. They act in accordance with their righteousness and always choose to do what is right. Their integrity guides them. Their actions are consistent with their morality, and their morality is good.
Every single one of us should strive to be people of righteous integrity. Stand strong. Be upright. Never crumble into moral compromise.
Change begins in you!
