CONNECT people to Christ and POUR into their lives His teaching so they'll OVERFLOW for the glory of God

The Non-optional Nature of Prayer

Do you want to be obedient to the Lord Jesus Christ? Do you want to show that you love the Holy Spirit? Then do what Apostle Paul calls us to in Romans 15: prayer. He writes, “I appeal to you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in your prayers to God on my behalf.” In other words, he’s saying, Christian, pray for me out of obedience to Christ and out of love for the Holy Spirit. He’s saying, let these things be your motivation to pray for a brother in Christ.

These two things should motivate us as well. Prayer is not an option. It’s commanded. And the Holy Spirit is not apathetic to our prayer life. No, he burdens us for it and empowers us in it.

Are you a Christian? Then you should be a praying person, and God has provided you ample motivation. Who do you need to pray for right now? Don’t put it off. Do it. Do it because you are an obedient follower of Christ and a lover of the Holy Spirit. And all God’s people said… AMEN!

Change begins in you!
