You received Jesus. Now what? Well, Paul’s answer in Colossians 2:6-7 is simple: “Walk in him.”
Here’s what that means: however you came to Christ and whenever you came to Christ for that glorious salvation, that same Jesus is supposed to be your daily reality. Not just your salvation moment. Your everyday.
Think about walking. You don’t do it once and call it good. You wake up and walk. You walk to work, walk through conversations, walk through decisions big and small. Paul’s saying your life in Jesus works the same way. Every day. Every moment. Keep walking.
But notice what happens as you walk: you get “rooted and built up.” Trees don’t grow overnight. Buildings don’t go up in a day. Maturity takes time and consistency. The more you walk with Jesus—reading His word, talking to Him in prayer, obeying what you know—the deeper your roots go and the stronger you become.
And here’s the beautiful part: this steady walk leads to overflowing thanksgiving. When you’re walking with Jesus daily, you start noticing His faithfulness everywhere. Gratitude becomes your default.
Beloved, the Christian life isn’t a one-time decision. It’s a daily direction. Keep putting one foot in front of the other and walk with Christ.
Change begins in you!
