Make no mistake, Jesus was innocent. Pilate, the Roman governor, said it twice. Herod, the Jewish vassal king, agreed.

Yet, we read in Luke 23 that through the crowd’s influence, they released a murderer named Barabbas and condemned Jesus, the sinless Son of God, to death by crucifixion. By any measure, this is history’s greatest injustice.

And God planned every moment of it.

Does that thought trouble you? It shouldn’t. It should actually comfort you because it stabilizes the world around you. If God can weave the injustice of the crucifixion of His own Son into the greatest act of redemption the world has ever seen, no injustice in your life falls outside His reach.

The promotion you deserved but didn’t get… The relationship that was stolen from you… The mistreatment you experienced… The evaluation that wasn’t fair… The lie someone told that really hurt you… God wasn’t absent in those moments. He was working in them the way only a sovereign Savior can.

None of Jesus’s story caught God off guard. And your story hasn’t either. The injustice you’re carrying right now may be the very thing God uses for a great redemption. Beloved, trust the One who turned the worst Friday in history into the best news the world has ever heard.
