I’ve seen several 10 commandments displays around our community and am so thankful they are posted here because they are God’s standard for morality. Don’t lie, don’t steal, don’t murder, don’t cheat on our spouse, don’t love something more than God, and so on.

But they are a double-edged sword. Not only do they call us to do what’s right, they also condemn us for what we’ve done wrong. And let’s be honest, you and I have done a lot wrong.

Thankfully, as Jesus told us in Matthew 5:17, He came to fulfill the law for us. Where we’ve often done what’s wrong, He always did what’s right. He was perfectly righteous.

And here’s the amazing thing: if you will hate your sin and hope in Jesus, He will give you His righteousness so that you can enter Heaven. That’s the only way.
