I’ve met tons of people over the course of my life, and they all have at least one thing in common:  they want to be blessed. Whether they recognize God or not, they want to experience happiness, contentment, and goodness.

Don’t you want to be blessed? Well, true blessing only comes from God. Jesus tells us in Matthew 5:3 that God blesses the poor in spirit, which means to see yourself as spiritually bankrupt, to recognize your utter and absolute need for God and for him to make you righteous.

It’s those who are poor in spirit who will look outside of themselves to Jesus. They are the ones who will be truly blessed.

Nothing in my hand I bring,
Simply to the cross I cling;

Change begins in you!
