Apostle Paul said in Romans 1 that he was eager to proclaim the gospel to people, and he really didn’t care who. He would preach to anyone: Greeks, barbarians, wise people, foolish people, men, women, boys, girls, slaves, free people, the seemingly sinners, and the seemingly saints. He was eager to share the gospel with anybody.
And he was eager to share the good news of Jesus Christ anywhere. It was kind of like Dr. Seuss’s “Green Eggs and Ham.” Paul would share the gospel on a boat next to a goat, in the rain on a train, on a box by a fox, in a house beside a mouse. He would share here, he would share there, he would share Jesus anywhere.
Are you that eager to share the good news of Jesus Christ with those around you?
I’m eager to share the good news with you right now. Jesus Christ came to this earth and lived the life of perfect righteousness that you and I can never live. And he died the death on the cross that we all deserve. He earned heaven for us with his life and he paid hell for us with his death. And after dying and being in the tomb for three days, God raised him from the dead, proving to all that there is salvation for all who will believe on him and love him and follow him.
He did all of this so that we don’t have to experience the eternal condemnation that our sin deserves. You see, you and I deserve death in hell forever, but for every person who will turn from sin and trust in Christ, eternal life in heaven will be yours. And I pray that you would eagerly receive this good news.
Change begins in you!
