The Long Road to Fulfillment

Have you ever felt God whisper a promise to your heart, only to watch your circumstances move in the complete opposite direction? You’re not alone—and you’re in good company.

We read in Genesis 32 that, at seventeen, Joseph received dreams that seemed impossible: his brothers’ sheaves of wheat bowing to his; the sun, moon, and stars paying him homage. God had planted a vision in his heart, but fulfillment was thirteen years and countless trials away.

This is often how God works. He gives us a glimpse of His purposes long before they materialize. The vision comes first; the fulfillment comes later—sometimes much later. And the gap between the two can be filled with confusion, suffering, and seeming contradiction.

Joseph couldn’t have imagined the path ahead: betrayal by his brothers, a pit, slavery, false accusations, prison. Every circumstance screamed that his dreams were dead. Yet God was orchestrating every detail, using even the painful detours to position Joseph for his destiny.

Perhaps God has given you a vision—a promise, a calling, a dream you can’t shake. But your current reality looks nothing like what He showed you. You’re tempted to think you misheard, that it’s too late, that circumstances have disqualified you.

Beloved, hold on. God’s timeline isn’t ours. The vision He plants is a seed that must go through seasons before harvest. Joseph’s brothers didn’t understand his dreams, and even his father kept the matter in mind, wondering what it meant. But God knew.

What God has promised, He will fulfill. Keep it in your heart. Trust Him through the waiting. Your fulfillment is coming.

Change begins in you!
