CONNECT people to Christ and POUR into their lives His teaching so they'll OVERFLOW for the glory of God

Shine that Light Without Exception

There’s a lighthouse on the coast of Maine called West Quoddy Head. It’s the easternmost point in the United States. Every day it shines its light out for ships. Not just big ships, but little boats too. Not just passenger ships, but cargo vessels as well. Not just friendly ships, but even unfriendly ones. It shines for everyone on the water without exception.
That’s Paul’s picture of the gospel in 1 Timothy 2. God has stated in Scripture that His will of desire is for all people to be saved. Of course, not all will be. But none should be excluded from the invitation. All without exception are to have the light shine on them. The businessman and the soldier. The teacher and the tech. The student and the senior saint. The person who looks far from God and the person who looks to have it all together.  The gospel should cross every boundary we try to draw.
There are all kinds of people who should hear the gospel, but there’s only one mechanism for salvation: one God, one mediator, one ransom — Jesus Christ, truly god and truly human, fully sufficient. The price He paid wasn’t for just a tribe. It was for the world, all who will repent and believe on Him.
Of course, our job isn’t to save anybody. Our job is simply to make the announcement, to shine the light. And that light is meant to reach every kind of person in every kind of place, especially that person right across the road or room from you. Beloved, shine the light of Jesus on them!
Change begins in you!
