Back when I was in school, math was never my best subject. It was always my lowest ACT score. I can remember sitting there and thinking, I wish Albert Einstein could just come take this part of the test for me. Wouldn’t that have been great? I mean, a dude with his sort of math skills would surely get a super high score.
Well, as we turn to Romans 8, we see that there is something that you and I are not very good at: keeping God’s law. As we’ve said before, we’ve sinned and fallen short of God’s glory. We have broken his commandments. We have failed the test. And in this test, you don’t just get an F and get to repeat the class, you get condemned to Hell.
But here’s the thing: like I was hoping Albert Einstein would do for me on that math test, Jesus Christ has stepped in and has taken this spiritual test for us. And guess what: he passed with a perfect score. He did what we could not do. He perfectly kept the righteous requirements of the law for us.
And here’s the amazing thing: Jesus will give his test score to every person who will turn from sin and trust in Him. He will trade you your F for his 100 A+. And for those who will do that, they will no longer face the condemnation of God.
Listen, Einstein was good, but Jesus is better. Invite Him in, and trust in Him.
Change begins in you!
