Sometimes you and I get into a struggle and wonder if God even notices. Well, the Gospel of Mark, chapter 6, gives us hope.

In that chapter, the disciples were rowing hard, straining against the wind. They were struggling. But their struggle wasn’t unnoticed. Jesus wasn’t with them. He was praying alone up on a mountain. And the Bible says that Jesus saw what they were going through from the mountain. Mark says He saw them “making headway painfully.” He was never unaware of their struggle.

So in the fourth watch of the night, He came to them, walking on the water. Not around the storm. Through it. They cried out in fear, but He spoke: “Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid.” Then He climbed into the boat, and the wind ceased.

Beloved, I want to say to you today that Jesus will cross whatever stands between you and Him, even water, to enter into your moment of struggle and help you. Your strain isn’t hidden from Him. He sees it, and it draws Him near.

So, if you’re wondering, does God even see what I’m going through? He does. So, don’t just row harder. Look for Him. Today, trust that He is coming and will comfort you through the storm until the wind ceases.

Change begins in you.
