In Luke 20, they were admiring the temple’s beauty when Jesus said it would all come down. Not one stone left on another.
That’s the kind of statement that shakes you.
He didn’t stop there. He warned of wars, earthquakes, famines, persecution, betrayal by family, arrest, hatred. All because of His name. The road ahead was dangerous.
But tucked inside the warning was a promise from Jesus: “Not a hair of your head will perish.” That’s not a guarantee of comfort but rather a guarantee of custody. God holds what is His.
Then He said this: “By your endurance you will gain your lives.”
Not by your performance. Not by your perfection. By your endurance.
Beloved, faithfulness under pressure is the mark of a genuine disciple. Anyone can follow Jesus when it’s easy. The question is whether you’ll hold on when your “temple” falls, that thing you thought was permanent crumbles, and all you have left is Him.
He is enough. But please, prepare your heart now in the calm so it will endure the storm.
Change begins in You!
