The world is broken. We see division everywhere—in families, friendships, communities, and nations. We feel it in our own hearts when guilt and shame separate us from God. How can all these factions be brought all back together? The answer is Jesus.

Colossians 1:20 says that Jesus will “reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven.” To reconcile means to be brought back together. This includes fixing relationships between people, but it’s far more reaching than that. Jesus reconciles everything—earth and heaven, creation and Creator, you and God. The scope of His reconciliation is cosmic.

How does He do it? Not through power plays or political maneuvering. He reconciles by “making peace by the blood of his cross.” The Cross is God’s eternal plan to restore the relationships sin destroyed. Jesus didn’t just show us how to make peace. He became our peace by taking our punishment and absorbing God’s wrath.

Here’s the stunning reality: the One supreme over all creation humbled Himself to die for rebels. The King became a servant. The Judge became the judged. The Son became the sacrifice. This is the supremacy of Christ on full display—so powerful He could create the universe with a word, yet so loving He would bleed to restore it.

Are you living in this peace of reconciliation today? It’s not something you can earn through your own efforts. Instead, find it all in Christ. Rest in His finished work on the cross. He’s already made peace and provided reconciliation. Now receive it.
