A Kiss and a Curse

We read in Luke 22 that Judas betrayed Jesus with a kiss and that Peter denied Him with a curse. One act was perhaps confused but calculated. The other was born in a moment of sheer panic. But both men had a massive failure.
Now, let’s be honest, we like to think we’re different. There’s no way we would sell out the Savior for thirty pieces of silver or let fear cause us to deny Him. We’d never swear with curses that we have no idea who Jesus is. But yet, we do, and we have, just quietly.
We betray Him when we trade His truth for the approval of man. We deny Him when we stay silent in rooms where His name is mocked. We betray Him with our priorities. We deny Him with our excuses.
We’ve all been Judas and Peter. That’s not the question. The question is: what will we do next after our betrayal or denial? Judas chose despair and was driven to self-harm. Peter, on the other hand, wept, repented, and was soon restored. Which will you choose?
You may have betrayed or denied Him, but the cross stands as proof that there’s always a way to return.
Repent, and run back. He’s waiting.
Change begins in you!
