Today, we continue the first week of the Advent season with our focus on hope.
In Revelation 21, we read about the day that our hope becomes sight. Apostle John writes, “Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth… And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem… And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man… And he who was seated on the throne said, ‘Behold, I am making all things new.'”
This is where hope leads—not to disappointment, but to fulfillment beyond imagination.
The child born in Bethlehem inaugurated God’s kingdom. But the story doesn’t end with His first coming. John sees what we still await: creation restored, God dwelling with His people, every painful consequence of sin erased forever.
Notice God’s promise: “I am making all things new.” Not destroying and starting over, but renewing and restoring. The brokenness you see today—in yourself, in others, in this world—will be completely healed.
This is completed hope. What we now believe by faith that anchors our hope, we will one day see with our eyes. The promises we cling to in darkness will become our eternal reality in light.
Advent reminds us we live between promise and fulfillment, between Christ’s two comings. We wait, but not hopelessly. We wait with confident expectation because God always finishes what He starts.
One day, hope becomes sight. Until then, we hold fast. May you be blessed this Advent season!
Change begins in you!
