CONNECT people to Christ and POUR into their lives His teaching so they'll OVERFLOW for the glory of God

Stay Watchful

In Luke 21, Jesus didn’t sugarcoat it. Jerusalem would fall. Nations would rage. The sky itself would shake. But then… the Son of Man would come. Jesus Himself would return.
But when? The answer is soon. Always soon.
But that “soon” has been nearly 2,000 years since His death, burial, resurrection, and ascension in Jerusalem and like 2,030 years since His first coming in Bethlehem. That’s a long time to wait. It’s easy to get distracted or doze off or get discouraged. It’s human nature, over time, to get dulled by comfort and slowly drift into ordinary life, paying no attention to what’s coming.
But that’s exactly why Jesus said what He said in Luke 21:34–36, “But watch yourselves lest your hearts be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and cares of this life, and that day come upon you suddenly like a trap. For it will come upon all who dwell on the face of the whole earth. But stay awake at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.”
Beloved, Jesus knew that “soon” would be longer than we expected. Therefore, He gave us a call to be watchful. And that’s so important because we fully know and believe that Christ is coming again, but it’s easy not to live like it.
But we must always live like it. Jesus’s people must always have the posture of being alert, prayerful, and ready. Not anxious, but awake and watchful
Beloved, your redemption is drawing near and coming soon. Will you be ready?
Change begins in you!
