Wednesday Is for Worship: “Wonderful, Merciful Savior”

Wednesday Is for Worship

Wednesday has rolled around again, and we have been given another opportunity to praise our great God for the provision of Jesus Christ!

Today’s song has an ancient hymn feel to it, but it was written in 1989 by Dawn Rodgers and Eric Wyse.  I’m talking about the most excellent song “Wonderful, Merciful Savior.”  Published through Word Music, I first worshiped the Lord with this song while driving my minivan as my children watched the Praise Baby DVD “Praises and Smiles.”  (You gotta get the Praise Baby collection for your children!!!!)  I was hooked by beautiful melody and Trinitarian content of the song.  I bet you’ll get hooked as well!

The version below is done by Phillips, Craig and Dean.  What an opportunity you have to worship the Triune God today, and what a song in “Wonderful, Merciful Savior” you have to help you!  Enjoy Him and praise Him!

Verse 1

Wonderful, merciful Savior,
Precious Redeemer and Friend
Who would have thought that a Lamb
Could rescue the souls of men
Oh You rescue the souls of men

Chorus 1

You are the One that we praise
You are the One we adore
You give the healing and grace
Our hearts always hunger for
Oh our hearts always hunger for

Verse 2

Counselor, Comforter, Keeper
Spirit we long to embrace
You offer hope when our hearts
Have hopelessly lost the way
Oh we hopelessly lost the way

Verse 3

Almighty infinite Father
Faithfully loving Your own
Here in our weakness You find us
Falling before Your throne
Oh we’re falling before Your throne
